Introduction to Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom

Bring the joy back into teaching!  This two-hour workshop is for teachers who are looking for long term discipline skills that will encourage their students to develop the skills of mutual respect, responsibility and cooperation.  The workshop is based on the bestselling book Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom, by Jane Nelsen and Chip DeLorenzo. In this introductory workshop, participants will learn to:

•  Set and maintain limits with kindness and firmness.
• Support independent problem-solving.
• Avoid power struggles and invite cooperation.
• Identify the elements of effective discipline – what works and why.
